Soul Lightening International’s Mission Statement:
SLI’s mission is to cultivate soul actualization and purpose in the world, to further human evolution, health and awakening, for the preservation of the family and the global community.
The four basic principles of Soul Lightening Acupressure:
- Energy flow in the body promotes wellness and opens new awareness.
- Touch and the flow of love from the heart are healing and strengthening.
- Every person carries their own healing and wisdom within.
- The purpose of Soul Lightening Acupressure is to empower that inherent wisdom.
Soul Lightening International is organized under the California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes. It is organized and operated exclusively for educational purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Process Acupressure (PA) was developed by Aminah Raheem, Ph.D. as a holistic way to work with the active energy of both body and soul for healing and growth. She has taught the method internationally for more than twenty-five years.
“Process” is a working state wherein an individual deals with issues of the body, mind and spirit that are often buried in the unconscious. During a PA session an organic change often occurs as a result of creating a clearer stronger flow of energy through the whole-being. The objective of process work is for the client to come to a more conscious understanding of themselves.
The session is given while the client rests on a massage table, fully clothed. The practitioner applies firm, gentle finger pressure to specific acupoint combinations, and encourages the client to notice what they are experiencing. Often, by acknowledging and addressing symptoms or signals that arise during a session, positive change can begin to occur. By following this natural process the unique essence of the individual is magnified and brought into clearer focus. The client is empowered to choose the pace and depth of this exploration at all times. A full session lasts about one hour.
Normally, a PA session has several phases:
- Relaxation: As a state of relaxation occurs, the client may become aware of issues within the body and/or consciousness.
- Awareness: As the session progresses, the client may go into a deeper state of awareness, beneath surface tension, to access clarity or guidance about the issues at hand.
- Integration: Finally, integration and completion of the process occur as the session is closed with chakra balancing and grounding.
Sometimes described as “acupuncture without the needles,” Clinical Acupressure (CA) promotes wellness and rejuvenation by accessing and addressing the vital energies of the body.
CA is derived from traditional acupressure which uses touch on specific points to release and re balance the way energy flows through the body. Specific point combinations are held with firm, gentle finger pressure as the body, mind and spirit return to balance. As we bring a clearer stronger field of energy through the whole-being, it is not uncommon for new or forgotten awareness to arise in the body, mind, emotions, and soul. This is very natural, and our practitioners are skilled at navigating these events gently and with compassion during the session.
Clinical Acupressure is not intended to replace medical care for serious conditions, however those who receive this method report that it addresses common symptoms easily and effectively, with no harsh side effects.
CA is often used to complement more traditional methods such as physical therapy, massage, or nursing. It also stands very well on its own. A full CA session takes about an hour, and the client stays fully dressed while receiving the session.
This method of working with the human energy system was developed and refined by Aminah Raheem, Ph.D. She is the creator of Process Acupressure (PA) which facilitates emotional and spiritual awareness during bodywork. She has been teaching this method internationally for more than twenty-five years.
